How to Verify an FBR Digital Invoice
Buyers and auditors can check any FBR digital invoice is genuine by scanning its QR code, checking the invoice number on FBR's online portal, or using the Tax Asaan app. Here is how verification works and why it matters.
What 'verified' means
A verified digital invoice is one that exists in FBR's records exactly as printed — same invoice number, same amounts, same parties. Verification checks the invoice against FBR rather than trusting the paper.
This is the core benefit of digital invoicing: authenticity you can confirm, not just claim.
Scanning the QR code
Every compliant invoice carries a Version 2.0 QR code. Scanning it — including via FBR's Tax Asaan app — links back to FBR's record of that invoice.
If the QR resolves to a matching FBR record, the invoice is genuine; if it does not, that is a red flag.
Why buyers care
For sales tax registered buyers, a verifiable invoice is what supports their input-tax claim. An unverifiable invoice can cost them that claim.
Increasingly, registered buyers simply prefer suppliers who can hand over a proper, scannable FBR invoice.
Making every invoice verifiable
Because Digi Invoice posts each invoice to FBR and stamps the returned number and QR code automatically, every invoice you issue is verifiable by default.
Your customers can check any invoice you gave them, which builds trust and speeds up their own compliance.
