What is PRAL?
PRAL stands for Pakistan Revenue Automation (Pvt.) Ltd. It is the technology company that runs the systems FBR uses, including the one behind Digital Invoicing. When a business or a software vendor connects to FBR's Digital Invoicing API, PRAL is on the other side of that connection.
PRAL's role in Digital Invoicing
PRAL runs the DI platform itself. It runs the sandbox (FBR's free practice system) and production (the live system). It also runs the token-based access that businesses use — a token is a secret key that lets you post invoices.
Before FBR saves an invoice and gives back the FBR invoice number and QR code, PRAL's system checks it against the rules. Software providers test their setup in the sandbox first, and are certified (approved) before they can go live on production.

A certified integration has proven, against the live rules, that it makes valid invoices for the sale types it supports. That means the right invoice shape, the right tax, and the right QR code and invoice number.
