What Is Digi Invoice? Pakistan's FBR Digital Invoicing Software Explained
Digi Invoice (digi-invoice.online) is Pakistani software for FBR Digital Invoicing: it validates sales tax invoices against the DI v1.12 rules, posts them to FBR in real time and returns the IRN and QR code. What it does, who it is for, and how it differs from similarly named apps abroad.
Digi Invoice in one paragraph
Digi Invoice is a cloud platform built in Pakistan for one job: issuing FBR-compliant digital sales tax invoices. A business enters or imports an invoice; the platform validates every field against FBR's Digital Invoicing API rules — HS codes, sale types, tax rates and formulas, buyer registration, SRO references — posts it to FBR in real time, and returns the FBR invoice number (IRN) with the QR code that must appear on the printed copy.
It runs on FBR's official DI API (v1.12), supports sandbox scenario testing before go-live and production posting after it, and keeps every posted invoice searchable with its FBR number. Setup starts with a free account at digi-invoice.online/register.
Who uses it
The platform is built for sales-tax-registered businesses covered by FBR's phased integration mandate — manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers and service providers — and for the accountants and tax consultants who file on their behalf. Sector-specific rules are handled in the product: 3rd Schedule retail-price goods, zero-rated and exempt supplies, reduced-rate items, steel, petroleum, mobile phones and the other special sale types each follow their own validation path.
Businesses that already run an ERP or POS can integrate, while smaller firms can simply type invoices into the web form and post — both paths end in the same FBR-validated, QR-stamped invoice.
How it relates to FBR, PRAL and IRIS
Digi Invoice is an independent Pakistani platform, not a government body. FBR owns the Digital Invoicing mandate and issues the IRN; PRAL operates the underlying API infrastructure; IRIS is FBR's separate portal for registration, returns and invoice search. Digi Invoice sits on top of the official API as the software a business actually works in every day — it does not replace IRIS, and every invoice it posts is verifiable on FBR's own systems by QR code or invoice number.
Because the platform validates before posting, the common rejection codes (0091 extra tax, 0102–0105 calculated tax, 0099 unit of measure, format errors) are caught locally with plain-English fixes instead of bouncing back from FBR.
Not the same as other apps named Digi
Searches for digi invoice also surface unrelated foreign products — most commonly the Malaysian telecom Digi (CelcomDigi) and its bill portal, and invoicing apps from other countries using a similar name. None of those handle Pakistani sales tax or connect to FBR.
Digi Invoice at digi-invoice.online is Pakistan-specific: FBR Digital Invoicing, PRAL-based integration, Pakistani sales tax law (Sales Tax Act 1990, SRO 709, SRO 1852, Rule 150Q) and Pakistani business sectors. If the goal is an FBR-compliant invoice with an IRN and QR code, this is the Digi Invoice that does it.
